Some years ago when I needed to replace my windows and being the tech savvy person that I am, I resorted to use the internet to find a replacement window company. I used a search engine to search for one online through one of those “find it all sites”.

I emailed them and requested for a quotation. I didn’t know then that it was necessary to have them come over for an on site consultation. It took them about four days to reply and requested that I provide some details relating to my home. I should have seen the signs right there but being naïve I sent the details.

After a couple of days they sent me a quotation and I was thrilled. I was happy that this internet thing really works. I just had a few queries with the quote, nothing major just standard questions. I checked for their number on the quote and gave them a call.

Here is is when the real problems began. They kept transferring me to one person after another until I got fed up. When I eventually talked to someone they told me the quote was a standard one – they would have to come my place for an actual one.

They didn’t show up on the promised date and when I called them up they were not apologetic at all. They made excuses about how busy they were and what time of the year it was and so on.

This was when I realized that I was not getting anywhere with these guys and I cancelled the deal.
